Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then located many other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police state initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have requested to the public for details.
An important official stated the attack rendered him without words and needed to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
