Intensive Russian Attacks Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.
