The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.
